Did/Will you pick out your engagement ring?

I’ve had a lot of time to think about it (🤣) & what I’ve come to is, I know the company I want my ring made by & id ideally be like “these are the rings I like and these are the ones I DONT...now go forth and choose and customize” lol

I originally didn’t want an engagement ring. It felt like a sexist tradition to me that the woman wears a ring but the man doesn’t. Like “marking his property” before the wedding or something. 
But when we announced our engagement, my grandma gave my (now) husband HER grandmother’s ring, and made him re-propose with the ring 😂 and I do actually love my ring because of its long family history. I wear it every day since having my son because I hope to some day pass it on to one of my children. 
Otherwise I would never have picked out or worn an engagement ring and I would’ve just had a wedding ring only.

I gave my fiance my favorite qualities about rings and pictures over a few months and he used all the things I liked to try to find the best ring but also stay within budget. He wanted everything to be a surprise so i was not to pick out a specific one and say that is what I want and nothing else, which I was okay with because that takes the fun out of it. I love what he picked. I was happily surprised that he kept in mind so many different things and was able to find a ring that fit me so well. Only down side is its a little too big and i dont want to send it away to be resized so I deal with it.

I chose my ring. I had an idea of what I wanted, so while hubby and I were out shopping we stopped by a jewelry place just to get some ideas and I could show him what I liked. I wanted a very simple diamond on a very simple band, nothing flashy. But diamonds are SO expensive and nothing was anywhere within our price range. So we kind of browsed around and I really loved the sapphires (blue is also my favorite color!) And I saw this one

And was like "yup, I want a sapphire one similar to this". It was in our price range and the jewelry store had a special sale going on that day only, if you spent over a certain amount you got a free xbox1 with your purchase. WELL, I'm a sucker for a deal. We'd been planning on getting a ring soon anyways AND we'd get an Xbox? It felt like fate, so of course we jumped on that 😂

I casually dropped hints to my husband and told him that I did NOT want an expensive diamond ring, but that if/when we got married I wanted a silicone wedding band and nothing else. But then he went to the company's site and picked one out for me. It felt like a combined effort lol but it's perfect

I told my husband exactly what ring to buy me. It took all of the pressure off of him and he really appreciated that.

My bf has hinted and we’ve talked about getting engaged next summer and I’ve showed him the ring I want it the ring type every few months 😂😂😂I kinky like one ring style and I hate rings as is and don’t wear them now so he’s lucky I’m wearing any because I hate rings 😂😂😂 but I love him and it’s important to him.

No clue. My SO and I are still in college and are waiting to get married until after we graduate (and are more financially stable). I often find pretty rings on Pinterest and save them to a specific board just because I like the look of them (not the price oftentimes). I get very frustrated if engagements aren’t mentioned because we technically are yet aren’t, making even the topic of rings slightly unpleasant.

We picked together, then he slightly deviated from the plan to get me a bigger stone... which changed the cut. I would have preferred a smaller stone with the cut I wanted,  but I do love my ring.
