Roommate laziness not good for my cat
My roommate is incredible and she is one of my best friends. But she has a habit of leaving hair ties and plastic wrappers/strips out instead of throwing them away. Even empty disposable bowls after she is done eating the food in it. Usually that’s just whatever I could deal, but my cat eats and ingests hair ties and plastic pieces and had to have them surgically removed back in February. My roommate KNOWS my cat has done this and says she’s “good about it “ but I keep finding hairties sitting out on the bathroom sink or even just yesterday threw away her plastic wrappers from opening food and TOLD her to throw it away and this morning I see a strip of plastic pulled off one of those concealed foods on the floor where my cat tried to eat it. I am trying to not be mean and understanding but also trying to be stern. She says she knows and apologizes and I know it’s not on purpose but it’s honestly pure laziness along with some other gross habits she grew up doing. We all have them I get it we all do. But this is my cats life and having to not only financially go through that again but emotionally... it was awful to watch my cat go through that and the other pets at the emergency vet what I saw... it gives me anxiety whenever I see stuff laid out.
any ideas of what I else i can do to have it sink in for her?... I’m on the verge of snapping and I don’t want to as I’ve been mindful to remind her sternly and nicely.
