So confused miscarriage? Eptopic

Very long story we have been trying for number 2 since feb 2019 I had a miscarriage last may at 7 weeks, Onto now my last period was the 8th of April, Not exactly sure when I ovulated, Iv had positive pregnancy tests now for a few weeks, on Wednesday 20th of may I had cramps and back ache and a 'stitch' type pain in my left lower side. got home from work to red/pink blood when I wiped went to the pregnancy assesment unit had a cervical exam and my cervix was still closed my hcg was only at 740 obviously very low considering I should be around 6 1/2 weeks, went back the next day for a vaginal ultrasound and saw nothing? Had bloods taken again today that have only risen to 947 and have to go back again on Sunday for more bloods, The dr told me it's 1 of 3 things

Too early? But how when my last period was 8/4/20 would love this to be the case

Miscarriage?

Eptopic?

To me it sounds eptopic has anyone any experiences with anything similar?
