How many embryos did you transfer?

I'm having such a hard time deciding how many to transfer, doc recommends 1 but says if I want to transfer 2 we can, we have unexplained infertility. What did you do? How did you decide?

Im young & transferring two by choice- first FET. Its up to you & ultimately the rules of your clinic. Just educate yourself on the pros/cons of both & discuss them with your doctors to aide in your decision. Good luck

Our RE suggested we transfer 2 embryos. I have been diagnosed with recurrent pregnancy loss and all testing came back normal so we also had unexplained infertility. Our embryos were also not pgs tested. We went with 2 because of the above reasons. Initially both stuck, but unfortunately I lost one around 7 weeks but was blessed with the other who was born healthy in December.

For our first transfer we transferred two. Our doctor recommended that because we were unexplained infertility and the embryos were not PGS tested and my age was 34. This did result in a singleton pregnancy. For our 2nd child, it was PGS tested and they only recommended transferring one embryo, even though I was now 36. So it depends on multiple factors, are the embryos genetically tested?

One embryo is always the best option unless you’ve had several failed transfers.  My clinic actually makes you sign a waiver if you transfer 2 that absolves them of any responsibility for complications.  The risk of having twins or even triplets increases dramatically when transferring 2, and twin pregnancies are immediately high risk from day one.  I personally will never transfer 2.

My doctor said that single embryo was the recommended standard of care without earlier failures, so we had no choice.

My dr told me one is what they recommend but if the person is 35 or older then they recommend two embryos.
