Leaving them in a poopy nappy will give them nappy sores and rashes. My one year old daughter once pooped in the middle of the night while we all was asleep, I didn’t notice until the morning and her bum was very red. 
So I get up a twice in the night to check her nappy. I change her before I go to sleep around 12... then I check again around 3. Then around 6-7 ish. 😊

I put no, wait until they wake. Mostly because I didn’t know if my son has pooped. He slept in his own room since 2 weeks old. He also never really pooped at night.

Yeah. I hate it because my son is a PAIN to get down, especially if he's changed. But I would hate to think of him sleeping in his poop. ☹️ One time he pooped and then fell asleep so I left him and I felt terrible and could hardly sleep until he woke up lol.
