My opinion is it's up to the parent. Do or don't no one should be judged what they do with their childs genitals.

Nope. It’s an unnecessary elective surgery done by your OB (not even a urologist). Would you do it on a girl?! Your son shouldn’t get infections if you teach him how to clean it properly (starting at about 3 years old).

I do think it is a personal and private (no pun intended) choice each parent needs to make without judgement from others. Personally, I would like this done for my own son due in 10 days. It is still a common procedure in Canada, but now I live in a country where it is rarely done at all and I have already been lectured by my OB and tomorrow my pediatrician wants to have a "discussion" with me about it. I am pretty deadset in my decision to go ahead with it, I've done my research and my husband is on board. He is not circumcised and has problems on his side of the family with yeast infections, something we would both like to spare our son from if we can help it.

We did the snip for our son. He was our first born and we chose that bc his dad is. I’m really glad we are having a girl this time bc I felt terrible after and now that I actually KNOW my son I can’t believe I did that to his poor whittle body at two days old! Even tho he won’t remember. I’d feel
Obligated to do it for a second boy. Glad I don’t have to make that choice.

I think it’s ultimately up to the parents of course. I’m getting my son circumcised because I used to work in an assisted living facility and we always had issues with the uncircumcised men having utis and not being cleaned properly

It’s genital mutilation. 
You are literally cutting off a piece of skin from his penis. There is no medical need for this procedure. If he decides to do it when he’s 18 then by all means that is his choice.

I personally think it’s an unnecessary procedure. But I also think it’s very important for parents to do their research & decide for themselves.

I'm from the UK so it sounds barbaric to me.
I'm surprised though at the talk of all these infections. Ive worked in urology and never heard of an infection rate like people say is in the US.
