Why do I sunburn no matter what?

It doesn’t matter what spf I use. 
I am starting to think I’m allergic to sunscreen because not only to I burn, I burn AND itch. I don’t have hives or anything but I’m burnt so bad. 
I thought it was just because I am really really white. Like my skin shade is naturally ivory pale white, the sun reflects off of me. I wore sun screen today and was only out in the sun for a few hours and I am so miserable right now that I want to cry. 
Why. Just why. I guess I should just avoid the sun like a vampire. Carry an umbrella out with me in the sun. I can’t even enjoy my summers because of this, because I burn so bad it makes me not want to do anything.
I was using spf 50 and applying every hour and every time I got wet. I was trying so hard to not get burned. 😔 I even thought I was staying in the shade a good amount of time too

Are you putting it on far enough in advance before going in the sun? You need to put it on about 20-30 minutes before going in the sun, otherwise it may not be effective when you first go outside.

If you’re in the sun for a few hours, you should be applying sunscreen every 30 minutes to an hour at least. Especially if you burn easily. I am the same way and burn badly easily. I typically have to make sure I apply sunscreen multiple times while out in the sun. Especially if you’re around a pool or water and swimming, that will make you burn even more easily. I also try to take regular breaks and find shade if I can, or cover with a towel. Especially my shoulders. Those burn the worst.

Are you using broad spectrum? UVB protects from burns, UVA protects from ageing

If you are very pale like I am I use 100+ proof no lie and put it on way before you go outside. Try the water proof and sweat proof one. Neutrogena is a good brand of sunscreen and banana boat. And wear a hat too.

I cannot do sun screen. My friends didn't believe me so I put sunscreen on 1 legs and rest nothing. That leg burnt and hurt so bad I slept with ice packs. The rest my body tanned. Try going once without it and see if it helps.

I am like this and I really I just have to apply sunscreen every 15-20 mins.  Annoying but I don’t like to be crispy

How often are you putting it on? If you burn that easy I would keep applying sunscreen on every hour. ￼

What SPF are you using? Do you reapply often? I use 50 or 60 SPF and have to reapply after 3 hours or so (more often if sweaty or wet). I'm quite pale!
