COVID- are y’all still socially distancing? am I overreacting?

How are you handling this where you live? I live in NJ, and it’s still pretty rampant here. But it seems like everyone around me isn’t social distancing at all. I see all these Instagram stories and pictures of people just out together, no masks, in several different people’s houses and photos. Acting like nothing is going on. My in-laws are of the mindset that this is a hoax (🙄🙄🙄🙄), and still go shopping like normal and even went to VA for the weekend just because. My husband is starting to try and pressure me into going back to “normal.” He wants to take our baby into his parents’ house, let them hold her, go out to the store just to browse, and start hanging out with all of our friends again. I get it, this sucks, but I’m still worried. I haven’t gone into a store since March 15th, I’ve been working from home since March 17th, and I’ve been on 2 socially distanced walks with a friend and her baby. Am I overreacting? When will you all start to ease up on restrictions? Our governor is being really cautious and I think that’s smart, but I seem to be in the minority over here ☹️

I'm in PA in a county still in the red. I have become a hermit. My mom had been with us since march 15th. My tramatic birth story is actually what has made my husband and my self very cautious. I never want to see someone on a ventilator again especially never want to be the cause of someone on a ventilator.

In the Uk still social distancing however I had to start taking my little one to my mums again as I had to work. Although I’m working from home I can’t have my daughter in the background whilst taking calls as work in a call centre so she is going from one isolated home to another. My mum is early 50’s with no health conditions so we made the decision together. It was that or I lose my job😩

I think there’s a balance. I still have my mom come over and I have 1 friend that comes over, but I know where they’ve been what they do and there routines. ( after several years you learn these things) mentally I can’t stay alone locked up for long. I suffer from depression and trying to be forced into seclusion makes it worse. There’s a fine like to all this (very fine and hard to manage) between mental and physical health.
Now going anywhere and everywhere is obviously not safe or smart but never leaving or going anywhere can be just as bad

I came here to ask and write the same post. I am in Oklahoma where it's not quite as bad, but people here are actually upset at me for caring and taking the precautions. That being said I am just now considering my own "phase 1" where we will start visiting grandparents only. I really don't even want to do that. But my girl needs more than just me socially. Its really starting to effect her. However this is and will continue to be a big risk until a vaccine or treatment comes up and we have to decide how we plan to possibly live the next year. It's so scary.

I am with you.  I have a hard time seeing how going back to “normal” anytime soon.  They don’t know what they don’t about this disease.  Asymptotic people are walking around.  I would die if my child got sick from COVID when I know there is not a need to be out.

Yep. I feel exactly like you. All these people partying and chilling because weather is finally warm here. 
We haven’t seen anybody since March 10, not going out, groceries are being delivered. Etc. I’d rather be exaggerating, especially now about the disease kids get. 
Someone I went to college (I didn’t know him too well) died 2 days ago bc of covid. He was 33 years old. 
I’d rather just stay home and be safe. I really do think there is going to be a second wave, especially because of how everyone just stopped caring one day.

I feel the same . We only go out for essentials meanwhile everyone else acting like it’s regular day outside . Our county is opening back up and have since relaxed on masks being mandatory so now everyone just out here no mask doing regular activities.

I haven’t been quarantined at all bc both my husband and I are essential - I have worked my normal hours at the hospital the whole time. Which also means we have had childcare so my kids have been out of the house. We’ve went to the grocery and stuff like normal, but just haven’t taken the kids. We just recently started getting together with one other couple. I’ve seen my parents the whole time bc they’ve helped with childcare.

I live with my parents and brother. Either my mom or I go do grocery errands. My soon to be 5 year old son nor my 8 1/2 month old daughter have been out with me doing these errands.
One time I had to take my kids to pick up school materials.
