What birth control should I get?

I’m trying to decide - definitely know I don’t want the iud. I’m debating on the rod in my arm or the depo. Opinions? I’m 21 with 2 kids and done having kids for a whileeeeee.

Unless you want to gain a ton of weight, I’d avoid the depo. It is the ONLY birth control that has been proven to cause weight gain. Try the patch. If your not sensitive to the adhesive I’d try the patch. I put it on my butt since it seemed like the place less friction would happen. I’ve hear the rod in the arm is a hit or miss as far as liking it.

I had the copper IUD and LOVED IT! No hormones to Jack with my system. It does increase your period heaviness but the no hormones was worth it to me.

I had the arm implant for a year and I hated it. Mood swings, anxiety, gained 20lbs in 2 month. The first few months of having it I was bleeding multiple times a month spotting in between. Towards the end I was only bleeding once every two months.
I got it taken out a month ago and I’m down 10 pounds and I’m feeling a lot better.￼ But that’s just my experience with it.

I had the arm implant....for me it was the worst thing ever. Crazy ass mood swings, weight gain. Like, 8 pounds in 3 weeks with no changes to diet and exercise. I had it removed pretty quickly.
