My 20 month old son does not point. He barely talks. He says about 6 words plus 2 animal noises.

Other than the speech Nd the not pointing, no other autism signs. All I keep reading about is that not pointing means autism. When he wants food or milk he says baba. So he never really had a need to point. Now I have been offering him options for dinner. I’ll hold them both up and he’ll do a hand gesture to what he wants but no point.

Has anyone had a child that just didn’t point, that didn’t have ASD??? he’s starting speech therapy soon, but I feel like they may tell me to have him evaluated.
