Trying for a baby

We just started trying half a year ago,

With me already having a child, and being young still, I didn’t think we would have any issues. But we haven’t had any luck yet, and I didn’t expect it to take this long ...

I’m not upset, I know for some it can take time, but how long do I wait before asking a doctor about my fertility?

Like should I wait a full year before going to the doctors about it or ?
