Do you tend to believe someone more if they swear on someone’s life / grave?

So for eg you’re arguing with someone and they say “I swear on ___ life I didn’t!” Or I swear on ____ grave!”
Does that make you tend to believe them more? Or is it a sign of desperation to be believed?
I personally hate when people say/do that.  Especially if it turns out they were dishonest.

I’m probably less likely to believe somebody if they say stuff like that. It hardly ever comes across genuine.

It’s a really really common used phrase here where I live and tbh if someone has sworn on their children’s or parents life I wouldn’t not believe them- it’s not just the words it’s how they say it and what they are saying it about as well 
I’ve never known someone use it and be lying. 
It might sound immature but you don’t swear on your children’s life if your lying and if you do I don’t want to know you so that person wouldntbe in my life anyway

Idk I guess for me it depends on the person like my SO has the utmost respect for his grandma and misses her and loved her dearly I know he would never lie on her name because that's disrespectful. My mom does the same with me if she ever thought I was being dishonest about something she'd ask me to swear on my grandpa's grave and I'd actually tell on myself because I'm not about to swear on my grandpa if I'm lying. I don't believe everyone though.
