Being there, controlling the birthing environment, and supporting me and my accomplishment of giving birth is the present in my mind. But if he wants to get me a stiff drink and some flowers afterward I wouldn’t get upset 😂

What’s a push present?

I've always found push presents bizarre. I don't need to be rewarded for birthing our kid. My babies have always been my "gift."

I don’t think a push present is a reward, it’s just another way for the husband to show his love and appreciation to his wife. It’s a Mother’s Day gift on the ultimate mother day! As women we need to accept and be proud of the fact that we do go through so much more physically and if they want to say thanks with a gift I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. And if you feel like its too one sided, give your hubby a gift too! My love language is gifts and so I did tell my husband about push gifts with my first and he was all up for it. I got a hammock and we use it all the time to relax outside, now with our two kids, soon to be 3! ❤️

I actually gave my partner a big bag of all his favourite chocolates to say thank you for being so helpful and amazing through my pregnancy.  
I don’t expect a present although I wouldn’t refuse it. I just expect he help me and look after the baby and our toddler just as I do that’s enough of a present for me.

I don’t like the sound of “push present” but I wouldn’t be sad if hubby wanted to show his appreciation afterwards with a thoughtful gift. I’ve seen women in my area get new cars, diamonds, all kinds of super expensive stuff as a push present and that just isn’t my style. But sentimental jewelry with baby’s birthstone, or something self-care related would be fine by me!

For my first baby my husband was deployed so he missed the birth and the first four weeks. For my second baby, he changed every single diaper in the hospital and ordered all of my meals for me so I didn’t have to. With this baby I’m expecting the same. It’s not a “present” but I’d say some pampering counts.
