Can you forgive cheating?

If your significant other cheated on you, could you forgive it? If the cheating was no strings attached and simply a mistake, not a continuous affair.

Calling cheating a “mistake” is bs. A penis doesn’t just fall into a vagina by accident. It’s not an “impulse” or anything... so much deliberate action has to go into it (deciding to cheat, kissing, removing clothes, removing underwear, etc...) like that’s so much time and so many steps? You don’t get to call that an impulsive mistake. That’s very, very deliberate.

What you mean like slip and fall? Which mistake if you cheat on someone than that is not just a mistake there is something fundamentally wrong in a relationship.

NOPE. If my current boyfriend cheated on me i'd leave immediately & eventually I'd forgive him but I wouldn't consider getting back with him afterwards. You can forgive but dont forget that your partner, someone who claims to love you, betrayed your trust & love.

I think it would depend on how it happened, and how I was told. Does he truly have remorse and is willing to see his wrong doing or is he just saying sorry because he got caught. I think only you would know how you are going to feel.

So normally-no. Cheating a not a mistake, it’s a choice. In my current relationship it would honestly depend on when. We had a very rough 2 years where he kept telling me he wanted a break and we shouldn’t be together, but I fought him and guilted him into staying (not my finest moment). He didn’t want to be with me and we were unhealthy together. So if I found out he Cheated during that time, I could forgive. He couldn’t break up with me before going to someone else, I wouldn’t let him. He was scared I was going to hurt myself (I have a history of self harm, he’s the person who actually helped me stop).
In exactly one month we’ll be at our 4 year anniversary. Today we’re better than ever. Happier, stronger, more connected, and more in love than ever. If he cheated on me now-no.

No. I learned my lesson with forgiving a cheater. Cheated on me in high school several times. Left me for another girl. He never changed, and he tried to add me on fb a few weeks ago... he is now going out on his wife that he is supposedly working things out with. Lol no thanks, block! I forgive from afar, but he’s not coming back into my life.

-How was my overall relationship? Were they disrespectful in other areas of the relationship? Was the relationship mutually beneficial?
-How long was relationship?
- Am I Married or single? Do I have kids? 
-With who did they cheat... coworker, friend, app?
-How did I find out?

I don’t care if we’ve been together 50 years and have properties, kids, investments and a company together. You cheat... I’m kicking you to the curb and never looking back 🤷‍♀️
