This makes me so sad

So, I have two lovies. One for each of my babies. (twins in 13 days!!!) But this. One, all I have to do is barely pull and the brown stuff comes off and I'm afraid it'll get it their mouth. Now, I can watch really close and make sure they have a pacifier but still if it catches on something and comes off, it can get in their eyes. I don't wanna throw it away but I don't wanna give it to someone else because I don't want it to get in any other babies eyes so IDK what to do with it. It seems so shitty to throw it away. So, should I keep it and watch really close or should I just toss it
