Can I wear sandals to work till my toe heals?

I work as a cashier at a grocery store. One of my coworkers told me to wear sandals till my toe heals. She told me they’re no going to tell me anything.

Ask your supervisor. I worked retail and we would have been written up and told to go home (thus missing a day of pay) if we came in open toed shoes or footwear that didn't comply with staff dress. It also would have been used st the end of year review potentially. If it says explicitly in your dress code no sandles my guess would be probably not or a doctors not or something might be required. Regardless I would just ask your supervisor to be safe as it could be a safety type state law or something.
