Should I have an early pregnancy scan?

Im 6 weeks pregnant according to my last period.  It doesn't feel real! I feel so lucky. I am thinking of having an early private scan in a few weeks as i just can't wait another 6 for my hospital one...is this a bad idea??

It might just end up giving you more anxiety as it’s really hard to see the baby/find a heart beat at 6 weeks.
I had an ultrasound at 8 and a half weeks and you could see the baby and the heartbeat, so if you can wait a couple weeks, definitely wait as long as you can!

I went in 6w4d and the lady couldn’t see it via the normal ultrasound so she had to do a vaginal ultrasound. Honestly, I freaked out because i couldn’t see anything. The heartbeat was there though. Still, wait a couple more weeks at least so it’s more exciting for you 🤗

It's not necessarily a bad idea but your insurance probably won't cover it. And baby is still really small right now. If your cycle is irregular, you could be earlier than you think. There's women on here every day freaking out because they went in too early and couldn't see anything. 
It's normal for it to not feel real! I would wait and go in when your doctor recommends though. Pregnancy is one big long waiting game 😅🤷‍♀️
