Has anybody had a virtual baby shower? Do you have any tips or ideas for hosting one?

My partner and I don’t live near family really just some friends. His parents live four hours away, the rest of his family is in another state and majority of my friends, family and parents all live across the country. With pregnancy and the pandemic I don’t plan on traveling anytime soon so I feel like if I want a shower this is the best option. I personally don’t like baby showers but I know some friends want to buy things and I’d love to have people send in well wishes for the baby to print out and save for her so it seems like the way to go. Better than just sending our registry out at random. I also want to announce gender as we haven’t told anyone yet but our parents and closest friends. I feel like it could be fun but I don’t know what I’m doing at all. I’m so lost on planning these things and my partner is really no help 😓 I’ve been reading some articles but would love to hear about actual experiences
