Potty training?

Hi all, I’m about to embark on the potty training journey with my 2 year old... any tips will be appreciated. I was told by a friend to let the child stay home in just T-shirt... I have a female child... would it be hygienic for her to play around with just T-shirt on? I worry about her baby girl parts getting exposed to germs?

I use underwear and pants. Didn’t do rewards. He was pee trained within a week. Still working on poop for whatever reason. He started at 3.5 though.

With my son, I used potty training underwear. He still felt his accidents but they had extra layers so it wasn’t all over my floor. They worked for him but I could see where they may not for others.

We’ve been doing this the last few months. She runs around either naked or naked from the waste down, it’s fine. We used sweets as a reward to use the potty. It’s a slow process, don’t expect it to last a couple of weeks. We are about 3 months in and she’s really good, but still has accidents.
