I have a really stupid question...

So since muscle mass weighs more than fat...

If you needed 2,000 kcals a day to maintain, but then started adding some light strength workouts, could you gain weight due to more muscle mass? What if you are the calories you burned on top? Like if you burned 300 per day doing strength training, so you eat 2,300?

I'm not talking about building huge muscles, because you'd then have to eat more calories than you need per st to bulk up, but just a small amount.

What if you ate 200 kcals less, and burned 300 kcals doing strength training, would you still lose one pound per week or less because of heavier muscles?
