Long hair kitty mat remedies?

Hey guys! Looking for some suggestions to help my kitty with the mats she is starting to get! I try to brush her regularly, but honestly she hates it. She's got a couple small ones towards her hips, and I know they're just get worse! Is there anything I can use to help loosen the tangled fur?

my cat is a longhair so she's very prone to mats, especially in the summer. honestly the best thing is to groom often. i use a grooming glove and the furminator brush for a few minutes at least twice a day. even if your cat hates it, it's important to her health. my cat attacks the brush in certain areas so we take a break before going again, and approach her when she's calm again. if she does develop mats you can use talcum powder or a mat splitter

Coconut oil helps loosen up the tangles and its healthy for them so no problem is they lick it off. Helps keep skin moisturized too!

A quality clippers or a groomer if you’ve never done it yourself.  I have one sweetie that mats terribly and gets so grumpy so I keep those areas clipped short.  I worked in a dog grooming shop for 6 years though so I had a lot of experience with it.
