Im an English major and got accepted into my dream school a few months ago, but they recently terminated my admissions due to me not having met a minor requirement. I’ve been having a hard time with this and have been thinking about my options, which are...

1. Wait a whole year and reapply for fall 2021.

2. Attend the cheaper university closer to home (they’ll take me this fall) and sacrifice certain things this school doesn’t offer that my dream school offers.

—(I’d possibly get my masters later on at my dream school if I chose this route)

I hate having to wait a year, but I keep thinking that I won’t be as “successful in life” if I don’t go to the better school. I know it’s a stupid thing to consider, but I’m not sure if it’s a valid point or not. I’m really torn. I’d really appreciate some advice/expertise on the matter.
