Induction question?!

I’m a little confused and I have an appointment with doctor tomorrow so I will be discussing and asking all my questions then but I thought I’d ask some of you ladies who have experienced inductions before. So my due date is this Friday but my induction date (due to GD) is set for 7:30 on Thursday morning. But I’m supposed to be at hospital Wednesday night at 10pm. So my question is, if induction is set for Thursday, why have me come to hospital Wednesday night? I’m assuming to start medication? So could I possible for into labor early after medication starts on Wednesday night before the induction happens?

Hi! I just set up my induction for next week in case baby doesn’t come this week and had the exact same question for my OB. 
Hubs and I are going in Wednesday night and the baby will come Thursday. I’m going in the night before because they’re going to give me a pill every 4 hours starting that evening (completely spacing on the name of the pill) to soften the cervix. Then they’re going to break my water. And Thursday am if I haven’t started having contractions on my own they’ll start pitocen. Hope this helps!

Thank you ladies for your input!! Hopefully it’ll all make more sense to me after my appointment with doctor tomorrow. This balloon thing sounds scary lol I’m glad I asked y’all though bc I thought it was just a simple process but sounds like there’s a little more to it than I thought!

I checked in Sunday, started ripening meds and a balloon. Mid afternoon on Monday I started pitocin and would have gotten my water broken if it hasn't happened on its own. Then delivery at 2:30 on Tuesday morning. I don't know if that's their plan for you, but that's what I would expect.

I know with mine I’m going in at 5 pm Friday to do cervidil for 12 hours before they actually start pitocin the next day?

If I set mine for this Sunday - I go in Sunday evening for them to place foley balloon (assuming I’m not dilated) and then back in Monday morning to be checked in and they’ll start pitocin and see how I go - if necessary, they’ll break my waters after that..

So for me I was told to get to the hospital at 12:15am and I started medication (pill in the vagina) at 2am, and was on that until about 8am, then started pictocin, then had my water broke at 1030am, labored until baby showed up at 2:10pm. I hope this helps! Maybe they want to use meds to ripen your cervix and get you ready before actually inducing?
