Would it/does it bother you if your mother says “OUR baby”? For example: She told me today she can’t wait to hold OUR baby girl. I may be being over dramatic but it really rubbed me wrong and bothered me. Seems weird.

It’ll be my mom’s (and MIL’s) first grandchild. To me it’s my whole family’s baby (but mostly mine haha)

My mom and I used to be super close but it was bc I didn't recognize how toxic/borderline abusive she was to me. When I had kids it got 100000000x worse. She calls them "her babies," and it honestly makes my skin crawl. You feel how you feel 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't correct her when she calls them that but if she starts overstepping 'Nonna territory' I scoot her right back in line real quick.

I have heard about this bothering mom's a lot. To me, it is my moms baby in a way because I'm her baby too. That's her grandbaby. My grandma even calls my son our baby or our LJ. I just take it as a sign that they just love him very much. They definitely know their not his mom.

Your feelings are your feelings 🤷right or wrong. Let her know. Just say "hey now I carried her and birthed her. She is your grandbaby and my baby. " 
You are entitled to feel your feelings but if you don't speak up when the line is crossed you can not expect change.

It takes a village to raise a child. To me, I could not be more grateful for my family to see my kids as one of their own. My kids even call their grandma mama. It doesn't make me any less their mom.

Honestly, you’re being a little ridiculous. Plenty of people from my blood relatives, my boyfriend’s (who isn’t the biological father) family, former coworkers, neighbors, etc. all call my daughter “their” baby

Really depends on the context. I mean personally I'd be uncomfortable with it because it's not her baby. It may be her grandchild but in my opinion it's kinda creepily possessive to call someone elses kid your child unless your in some way a parent to the child. That's just me tho maybe I'm reading too much into it?
