Hi I'm a first time dog owner but iv grown up with dogs all my life and I have been bitten by 3 dogs ( not my family's dogs) not severe but I have had a dog draw blood before. I'm stressed out because I have a dog and I took him over to my aunts house and my aunt has a pool my dog has always been around people and sometimes family he just turned 1 and he went swimming with me and my cousin in my aunts pool (first time my dog has met my cousin) my cousin was petting him and he was excited but my dog swam up to him in the pool while he was running backwards in the pool and nip his mouth ( my cousin mouth) I don't know if its because he was trying to breathe at the same time he was trying to kiss him but he didnt really do any damage it did cut his lip open and freaked me out because their was heavy blood flow but I talked to my cousin mom ( this is not my aunts kid btw it's my moms cousins son) she works at an oral surgical clinic and she said it was fine and she wasn't worried about it but I'm still freaked out he only busted his lip with a small cut and it looked like an accident but I'm still worried and I'm also worried on what people might think but they understand it was an accident but still should I keep my dog at home for now on or should I still try and socialize someone I'm lucky that this went over so smoothly but I'm actually worried/scared about him in public now ps: this was his first time swimming and he loves the water.
