I'm 17 today. The day started out good, my sister and mother got me a PS4. But now, they're arguing and I just want a happy day without my father being the topic of every conversation. "What did he say when he came to give you your card?", "He's not going to pay for your driving lessons? What kind of father is he?"

It's MY birthday. Its supposed to be a happy day to celebrate MY birth. Not my fathers, not my sisters, not my mother's. Me. I don't care if that's selfish because I just want a birthday where awkward tension isn't a thing. Where the whole day can just go interrupted by arguments.

I feel sick because its just me, my mother and my sister in the house. We were all happy no more than 2 hours ago. Now, my sister is in her bedroom, and my mother is next to me huffing and has an annoyed look on her face. I just want this day to end already. And the thing is, I actually really like my birthday, until this happens.

(I probably also need to add that my parents are divorced and what my mother and sister are arguing about is the fact that my mother hates my father and my sister was texting him to say that she and my mother were out of the house so he could bring my birthday card to me alone. They are arguing against each other.)
