If you mama's were to choose where or how to have a natural birth, how would you do so?

With midwives, in a tub,  or up and moving around. Not stuck in a bed strapped to monitors or ivs

At home but without a tub. I had a home birth with my first. I had exactly 1 contraction in the bath and immediately got out. I hated it. I gave birth in my bed, on my side.

My hospital had a tub for use. I did the hospital with no epidural or pain management and it was amazing. I thought about a birthing center but something just was saying no and am glad we didn't. I had a very very large hemmorage right after delivery. A birthing center may have not been able to handle it and that could have been really bad. I have a high chance of the same issue in later births so hospitals here I come!!

I had pne hospital birth then two at home in the water. I will always stick to at home in the water here on out. I'm due in October/November and doing another home water birth. The water is so soothing.

For me it’s hospital all the way. If I weren’t born in a hospital I would’ve died 4x over. It’s the peace of mind that’s indispensable to me personally.

Currently planning/preparing for my third home birth will a pool. My first, I used the water too much too early. I was 6 cm, but we think it relaxed me too much and I had a long stall followed by LONG labor, it was almost 24 hours after i hit 6 cm when my first was born. After about 15 hours of that, I finally decided to stay away from the water for a while and ended up birthing on the bed because my legs and arms were too numb to move to the water when pushing time came. Then I pushed for two hours. But, I learned from it. With baby 2, I was determined not to get into the water until I NEEDED some relief. I asked my midwife to check me when I hit that point. I was 7-8 cm. One contraction later, before I could get up off the bed from being checked, I was 10cm, baby was right there and my body started pushing. I made it to the water and down on one knee just in time for my body to push her head out. With the next contraction, she was in my arms. I will NEVER plan a hospital birth, unless something in my medical history necessitates it. Home birth is amazing and I love not having to travel anywhere before or after baby and ending the whole process tucked my clean sheets in my own bed with my husband and new baby. We’ve been very blessed.

I’ve had 2 natural hospital births that were great. If you’re in hospital it’s critical to find a provider who supports you. Midwives are where it’s at.
