Question about wet cat food

My bf doesn’t want me feeding my cats wet food because it smells. I offered to feed it to them occasionally every once or two weeks. We are in a rental and he is afraid the smell is gonna soak into the tile grout and we will get in trouble. Can anyone with experience with regularly feeding their cats wet food please let me know if you’ve had any problems with it permanently staining your house.
