Returning to work

Hi all! I know everyone’s situation is different but I was wondering if anyone is in a similar situation or could give advice.

I was furloughed due to covid 19. I was hired to work overnights at kohl’s to unload the trucks. This is important because I’m a SAHM during the day and do not have childcare. I wasn’t available for weekend days either up until a few random days recently as my husband has some weekend work days as well. So I usually work 16-24 hours overnights at $10.50 a hour plus my 2.50 shift differential bringing me to $13/hr. I’m obviously on unemployment right now.

They called and are “asking if we want to come back” but won’t tell us how everything will play out. They can’t guarantee hours each week. I’ve already told them I can’t work 10-8 during the week and they asked me if I could do weekends. I want to be flexible but I also wasn’t hired for that. And since it would be a shift during the day I wouldn’t get the extra $2.50/hr that made it worthwhile.

So what are my options? I really do want to go back to them but I don’t think it’s fair they force me especially because my availability was never what they are open for now. I also have asthma and over the last few weeks had to be in a mask for a few hours at a time and it was killing me especially with the humidity. I can’t imagine wearing one for a 4-8 hour shift (although kudos to all that do).
