Is hard water bad for dogs to drink?

Question

We have hard water and always fill our dogs bowl up from the faucet. We have a brita pitcher in the fridge that my husband and I drink from. 
Should I get another pitcher to fill my dogs' bowl with?

We give our dog water from the sink but we drink out of our water machine. 
It’s a dog... they’ll eat their own poop and drink rain water if you let them.

Hard water is fine, but any time I have lived somewhere I brita my water for taste, I do the same for my pets.

I noticed that if the water is truly bad, my dogs won't drink it (and they aren't prissy animals either, they usually drink from the tap, they've drunk from a pond, etc). It is actually how we found out that there was something wrong with the water at a house we moved to; our animals refused to drink it.
That being said, if you want to give your dogs filtered water for peace of mind, you absolutely can.
