Implantation bleeding??

Question

Hey guys. On June 17 I had sex with this guy. We’re no longer speaking as of yesterday. It’s been about a week and today when I wiped I had some mild bleeding and I’m not due for my period anytime soon. I have the ring in but there’s no reason I should be bleeding. Could it be implantation bleeding? What’s the likelihood of that being the cause, and how long should I wait to take a test? Should I take out my birth control just in case I am pregnant? Would leaving it in harm the baby if I am pregnant?

So if you’ve been using the ring properly, you shouldn’t be ovulating. Birth control releases hormones that prevent ovulation - so without the release of an egg, there’s no chance of pregnancy. Women who get pregnant while taking birth control, more than likely missed a few pills consecutively or missed injections or took their ring out for a few days etc. and without that constant supply of hormones, they begin to ovulate - also implantation bleeding would occur around the time you’d be expecting your period, which is why often times, women that do experience implantation bleeding mistake it for that, but not everyone experiences implantation bleeding. I personally did not have implantation bleeding when I was pregnant. So I can’t speak much on that - but I’ve read that along side with it happening around the time you’d be menstruating, it would be light and last a few days. 
Breakthrough bleeding or bleeding in between periods is quite common on the ring, especially in the first few months of use. So with all that being said - while it’s not necessarily impossible, I think it is very unlikely you’re pregnant
