Anyone work from home with kids around?

Question

A customer service job or a job that requires you to speak on the phone while having kids at home?
I also mean like working from home and your the one taking care of the kids in between working at the same time and if so how do you do it?

I work from home and my son still goes to a sitter. They made their rules very lenient with Covid but the rule before that was if working from home, they expected us to make proper child care arrangements. If you have older kids you can trust to behave, you could get away with it. My toddler? Heck no.

Thats actually against the jobs rules. You can not be caring for children while on the clock. And its not easy its hard as hell to even try

I am a recuriter for a work at home company and yeah it's against policy to be juggling both at once.   Now if your kids are able to be self reliant its easy to give them tasks or entertainment but work at home is rough! And with call centers...You have to take back to back calls 40+ on an average day with very often unplanned breaks.  I have  3 and 7  year old kids and I've gotten "told off" by customers being able to hear my kids in a different room vack when I was on the normal call floor.   If you do choose to peruse work from home have a plan.   Work either when you have childcare or in a time they are normally asleep although a lot of places do their training during normal business hours.

No, I still have them in daycare. I tried and she was tugging on the headphones and trying to talk to the clients. I couldn’t get my work done.  If you can’t get anyone to watch them maybe set them up in a room with a camera and check up on them frequently. Give them activities to do and snacks.
