Gestational diabetes and delivery

So I’m currently 35 weeks and I have gestational diabetes. My sugars are mostly controlled thru diet and exercise. I had an ultrasound at 33 weeks and he was estimated at 5 lb 13oz, his head measuring at 38 weeks. I know ultrasound is only so accurate and I have another one next week but wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation. How did you deliver/ can I request a section or induction if I’m worried about baby getting out safely. Paranoid that he’ll get stuck and then I’ll need an emergency section.
