Anyone’s baby had a birthmark removed?

My son has a large congenial nevus on his leg. We are considering removal as it will grow with him and cosmetically take over his leg. Would love to hear if any parent has experience with removal.

Let him make the decision when hes older. Removing them can cause serious scaring and nerve damage

I had a birthmark removed as an infant and I'm happy my parents chose that for me. The birthmark would have affected me later in life and this way I didn't have to make the choice to have a surgical procedure done as a teenager or a young adult. This way I don't even remember having a birthmark or the surgery🤷🏼‍♀️

I am not sure if its the same thinf but my baby has a nevus sabecous on his scalp that is already obvious and going to grow and wondering the same thing.
