Diabetic friendly meals? Etc.

Question

I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes, as well as anemia. Does anyone have ideas for diabetic friendly meals? Also, some iced/hot coffee recipes would be great bc it's my favorite drink.😁 thanks! I will be seeing a dietitian soon, but would like to hear your thoughts/input.

Low carb, low sugar is best - and if anemic - meat and veg, will help.
Iced coffee would need to be homemade with no added sugar or you’ll find your sugars off the chart.

Omg finally! Some that I can relate to lol. I felt so lonely here not having anyone to share my diabetic journey.
I have gestational diabetes, I was diagnosed very early on.
What you mainly have to focus on is from what my dietician told me is no deli meat as it could contain a bacteria that can cause harm to the baby. If you do have it make sure to cook it or microwave for a few seconds before eating. 
No sugary stuff, no cereals.
It’s really trial and error when you eat meals. Do eat high fiber foods. Low sugar veggies like strawberries 🍓 berries. No juices only water. 
Balance your meals with protein, a few carbs and greens. You will Also need a snack in between.
I usually have for snack one peace of toast, motzerella cheese and milk with almond butter. Avoid peanut butter.
Also look at the labels you want to choose things that are low in sugar. It will be irritating because you will crave allot of stuff. Sometimes I cry because I really want like cookies. But I care for my my health and my babies health.
Your dietician will talk about foods but in all honesty it will be boring and repetitive. Protein, veggies, carb. And it will get trickier as your baby grows because hormone levels will change and it can increase your sugar.
And you check your glucose 4 times a day, it’s so annoying. How far along are you ?
