Miss Lylah Jean is here!
This past Sunday evening my water ruptured at 33 weeks gestation. I went to the hospital where I was told I would stay for a week on IV antibiotics to prevent infection, but they wanted to keep baby in there for one more week. Well, Miss Lylah had other plans. The next morning when my nurse came in to check my vitals and what not, she notice baby girl's heart rate drop to low 70's. As more nurses came in, and oxygen mask was put on me and they had me changing position constantly and trying to get baby's heart rate to come back up. After 15mins of trying everything they could think of, the Dr. Was called and the decision was made to deliver via C-section (which I would've had regardless due to scar tissue on my cervix that prevented progression) after all that baby's heart did stababalize but the Dr decided it was still best to deliver instead of "waiting for something bad to happen again" we're her exact words. So now we have Miss Lylah Jean born 11/09/2015 weighing 4lbs 10oz and 17 inches long. As of today she has been breathing completely on her own for 2-3 days, IVs will be coming out soon and she'll be moved in to a crib as she is doing a great job holding her own body temp. And once she can eat and gain weight at a good rate then she'll be able to come home with us, but they are saying it'll still be a few more weeks for that to happen. But I am very thankful that she is doing so good and being the strong little girl I knew she would be.
