What to do when you can’t agree on names?

I have a very long list of names that I love... like 3 pages worth 😅. But I feel like my boyfriend either isn’t taking it seriously when I talk about names or maybe hes just trying to be an ass. Every time I ask him whether he likes a name he ALWAYS says no then asks if we can not talk about baby stuff (Understandable, I’m still in my first trimester but would like to be able to name baby when we find out the gender). The only suggestion he’s given me is “if we have a girl we need to name her Rona.... short for Corona virus” 😐😐😐 like I think tf not. I just feel like that is an awful name to call a little girl. Who tf would wanna be named after a pandemic. Especially because I’m sure their will be tons of other people with that idea 😂. Is there anything you ladies did to make your man take the name convo serious or get him to agree on anything?

It might take until you find out the gender, or even until birth. It was annoying, but my husband didn't want to talk about names until we knew what we were having. It's hard, but he will come around. It just takes time.

With both of my pregnancies, my bf wasnt neccesarily invested in choosing names until closer to my due date. 
With my first, he had requested to use his moms name as a middle only after we found out we were having a girl and this time he started kicking in name suggestions once we had our 20 week ultrasound. Every guy is different but he'll get it in his own time. 
I have 31 days left until my due date and while I've been telling my bf "hey, baby is coming soon we need to get stuff together" it didn't "click" for him until about 3 days ago 😂 i feel like their sense of time and urgency is juat different than ours 🤷‍♀️ 
Try to be patient with him but holy hell, don't give in to naming your kid Rona!! 😂

My partner wouldn't entertain me with baby names in either of my pregnancies until we found out the gender at 16 weeks privately. Both girls where then named around 17 weeks once we had agreed on a name. With my first my partner really wanted a boy when we found out she was a girl he was a little unhappy so I said he could name her but I had to agree. She's called penelope and we kept her name a secret until birth. Currently 31+2 with second and i said this time its my turn but he had to agree the name also. We have agreed on a name but again its a secret until birth

My boyfriend doesn’t want to talk about names until we find out the gender next week. I have a boy and girl name picked out already. Maybe he wants to feel more confident in a name when y’all find out

My husband was the same way. We ended up choosing a name we both like, but neither of us love. (Tyler) He didn't come up with any serious suggestions, just shot down mine..
So around 5 months when he finally said he liked Tyler, we started calling him that instead of the baby. 
2 weeks before I was due, "he suggested" a name that was in my top 10 and acted like he didn't remember me suggesting it. 🤦‍♀️ By then he was already Tyler to us. Even though I loved the other name, it felt weird calling him anything else. 
I recommend choosing what you love and referring to the baby by that while you're pregnant. I betcha it will stick. 😉🤞

I told my husband if he wasn’t bringing any serious names to the table he didn’t get to shoot down names I liked 🤷🏼‍♀️. He had to go research names and come up with his own list. We took our list and went back and forth, each eliminating a name. If the other disagreed we had to state our case and couldn’t just say “I don’t like it.” He eliminates my favorite name right off the bat, which was tough, but I wouldn’t have wanted to choose a name he definitely didn’t like.

Sounds like he might not be ready to talk about it. Maybe he hasn’t fully come to terms with the situation or he isn’t fully connected, which makes sense if you’re only in your first trimester. I’d suggest waiting to bring the convo up until you find out the gender or have your anatomy scan.
