Breastfeeding and caffeine ?

Can I drink coffee while breastfeeding? I
There’s no way I can function without coffee and newborn plus toddler. 
Anyone drinking caffeine ? If yes how many cups ?

I went back to having my 2 cups of coffee a day after baby was being born. The amount that comes through your breast milk is very minimal. Think one shot glass inside of an Olympic swimming pool.

Soooo, with most things you eat/drink, it won't affect the milk for the majority of babies. It's possible for babies to be sensitive to caffeine, dairy, etc. but it's not the norm. The only way you'll know is to try it.

Mine is 8months and I’m still only 1 cup a day bc she’s still sensitive. 😔 Hope everyone else on here enjoys their coffee for me!!!

I drank decaf while I was breastfeeding. Our pediatrician recommended it. Mostly because he would go days and days without pooping so she started questioning my diet. Caffeine can cause it as dairy. Those were the two things he wasn’t really getting. It just ended being his norm but I wasn’t taking a chance. I also don’t need the caffeine which I’m sure makes a difference. I drink coffee because I like coffee.

moderate consumption is totally fine. 2-3 cups. I personally keep it at 1 cup. sometimes 2. and never after 3pm lol
