Feeding rice cereal?

Anyone else starting to feed their baby rice cereal? My husband’s friend’s girlfriend who had a baby in January said she started at 4 months but my grandma said she didn’t start with her kids until they had at least a few teeth first. My baby is going to be 16weeks this thursday

We're skipping the rice! No nutritional value. Our ped said at his 4 month appointment that he could start baby food but I don't think he's old enough or ready for it. so we will probably start baby led weaning at 6 months

Skipping cereal as it has no nutritional value and a ton of empty calories. Going straight to real food. My son is 4 months and we have been letting him taste things every few days as well as sitting him in his high chair while we eat dinner and give him his evening bottle of pumped milk. But I'm not going to start getting serious about him eating solids until talking to the Dr and hitting the 6mo mark

I’ll be skipping baby cereal all together and go straight to BLW at 6 months personally! If BLW doesn’t work out and we decide to do purées I’d still personally would wanna wait until 6 months although I know 4 months is common now for a lot of people.

I started adding rice cereal to my daughter's bottles at about 4mo. She wasn't ready to start eating until closer to 6mo and she skipped past the baby food to stealing mashed potatoes and other soft goodies.

I didn't want to start food till about 6 months because a risk of obesity but my son stares at me hard when I'm eating and if I'm eating when I give him a bottle he will stop eating to watch me. I've been giving him bites of stuff here and there. Soft manderin oranges and bananas. He doesn't have teeth yet so I have to keep my finger in front of his lips so the food doesn't fall out lol

At my LO’s 4 month appointment (last week) we got the go ahead to start on solids. We started with oatmeal cereal and will stick with it for a week then move onto a veggie. I wasn’t going to do the cereal but I want her to be aware of different textures. I only make 1/2 a tablespoon. So far so good.

We gave it to our baby because she had severe reflux,  it helped a lot. I don't plan on giving it to outside of that context. 
We're starting with sweet potato.

We want desperately to add rice/oatmeal to our littles diet in the hopes it will help keep formula down (reflux and is a constant spewer)
At 4 month appointment Dr said to wait until 5.5 months and not to do cereal/oatmeal but to just start with sweet potato bummed but we will wait not so patiently lol
