How many weeks along till doctors start checking dilation?

First baby and just hit 34 weeks! Getting very excited and having a decent amount of Braxton Hicks. Curious to see when OB’s generally start checking dilation?

In my first pregnancy they offered at 37w and I declined, at a different OB they didn't offer in my second pregnancy.
Dilation means nothing until active labor and true labor contractions. You're just getting an uncomfortable cervix poke for no reason 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mine checks around 36 weeks but I denied them.

My first two my Ob started checking at 37 weeks. My last two I had preterm labor so started getting checked at 32 weeks. I’m refusing all checks this time around bc they are pointless. My first I wasn’t dilated at all the day I had her.... the last I was 7 cm dilated for over a week before active labor

They offered at 36 and I declined because it wouldn’t have changed anything at the appt or in the week before my next appt. I’ll only have one at 37 if we discuss potential induction.

Mine never checked me with my daughter I got mine checked for the first time when I went in to get induced at 37w was only 1cm 😆

With my 1st I think she started checking me at 36w
With #2 I was never checked. I went in at 37w for my normal check and was complaining of all sorts of pressure and possible contractions. He said he didn’t want to check me and make anything angry 😂 my husband was out of state. But my water broke the next day anyway 😳

Around 34 weeks I believe she started checking me. I was 2cm dilated already at 34 weeks!:)
