Can you dilate if your baby’s head isn’t engaged?

This is my first baby and I’m overdue but my baby’s head isn’t engaged into my pelvis, is it possible for my cervix to dilate?

I assume so? People go into labour natural and have vaginal births with breech babies so they must dilate?

Yes you can certainly dilate without babys head being fully engaged

With my first, I was closed up tight and baby was not engaged at my last OB appointment. Less than 48 hours later she was born. I wouldn't stress too much! Your body knows what to do!
