After breast feeding, do you pump?

I'm trying to figure out how I can build up a stash of breastmilk for when I have to leave my daughter for short periods of time with her dad. And possibly might have to go back to work early so I'd like to plan for building a stash of breastmilk. I pumped today after feeding and only got 1 oz total. I'm on medication to increase my supply, but I'm wondering is this a normal amount to be expected? Seems like barely any to me. Any suggestions?

I believe that’s normal. Do you use a hakkaa. I bought a cheaper version of it and use it every time I breastfeed to catch the letdown from the breast he’s not feeding from. I’ve been able to freeze about 12 oz a day the last few days doing this.

The hakaa!!! I get like three bottles a day just feeding my baby on one breast while suctioning that thing to the other !! Best invention ever Im mad I didnt get one with my first!!

Yep the haakaa is best. Get 2-3 ounces a feed and mornings I get a 4-5 ounces. Works amazing, haven’t touched my normal pump ever since

I use the haakaa everytime and I end up with about 16 ounces a day.

Totally normal. You’re feeding her fully then pumping the leftovers. Just keep pumping for a couple of days until you accumulate 2 oz to freeze in a bag. I’ve got a few different sizes in my freezer ranging for 2 to 5 oz per baggie. My pediatrician told me you only need 20 oz in the freezer for day one of daycare (a maximum of 60 oz) - it’s not a freezer full like so many believe!!

I pump once a day right now. 7w pp. I recommend doing it after your early morning feeding if possible because that’s generally when your supply is fullest. Also, the more often you pump, the more you’ll get! I started with 3oz total and doubled it 2 weeks later. It’s also based on how much your LO is eating too. Just start slow if yuh want.
