How the heck do you get any work done with a needy toddler?? I would appreciate any tips. ❤️

Honestly it’s just a shit show most days 😅 I let him pull out crap from my desk drawer which keeps him entertained for a little. I have an unused keyboard that he likes to pretend to type on. He loves “sesame street songs” on YouTube so I’ll put that on the TV for a little while. If he gets super fussy I’ll nurse him at my desk 🥴 Nap time is obviously the best time of day as far as actually getting work done goes. And his big sister watches him every day for about an hour while I get some work done. (she’s 9, it’s her “chore” 😂)  Back when she was in school I had to have one of my good friends come over a couple times a week for a few hours to watch him. I paid her $20 a day, it was the only way I could stay caught up! I’m sorry I’m not much help. I know how tough it is!! 😩

You don’t. Haha. Honestly I get most things done during his naps and first thing in the am. But we started sending him go daycare twice a week to help out and it’s been wonderful.

I WFH and I feel you! One thing I do is I wake up much earlier than the time I know my daughter is waking up! It is crazy how much work done one can do very early in the morning! I will do my daily activities at that time and get them out of my way so I am not super stressed during the day! It all depends also what kind of work you do! In my case I don’t do any customer service and I can manage my time however I want, so I don’t need to be in front of my desk all day long. If I had to be in front of the computer all day, I just couldn’t do both things at the same time. That sounds impossible and stressful to me 🤪
My husband works from home too, so, one day he takes care of her, and the other I do! We take turns. Also when I have meetings I plan in advance for him or someone else (my in laws) to help me! (Unfortunately all my family lives in my hometown and husband and in laws is all the help I have) but they help us a lot when needed... even if it is just for 1-2 hours meetings!

Let me know when you find out! I WFH and my husband is back in the office 3 days/week and it’s brutal. My 4 year old constantly talks...non-stop...And goes in and out to the backyard 1,576 times/day. I try to work a bit before my kids get up for the day, but sometimes I have to use that time to shower when I have meetings. It’s a shit show at my house all day long. Sometimes I put in hours after my sweet cherubs are in bed, sometimes I have to put in a few hours on a Saturday morning. Thankfully my boss isn’t a micromanager and doesn’t really care when I work as long as I’m getting my stuff done. If my older 2 don’t go to school this fall, we are getting a PT nanny because I can’t function like this much longer!
