Labial fusion?

Hi ladies! I’m so confused lol. So we switched pediatricians yesterday for Jordyn’s long over due 12 month visit because her old pediatrician was no longer accepting our insurance. When she did the full check up she diagnosed Jordyn with a labial fusion and showed me what she was talking about. I never even knew that was possible but she said it’s actually pretty common. She prescribed an estrogen cream to open it up. Has anyone else experienced a labial fusion?

My oldest has this. She developed it when she was 3. We did the estrogen cream for a while but it didn’t fully allow the skin to come apart. She has a well child next month so I’ll bring it up again. I think it’s more of a concern if it blocks any urine from coming out. We will probably use estrogen cream again and try it longer than we did before unless our ped says something different this time. I was told it’s very common as well.

I don’t know anyone who has had it but my pediatrician checked for this almost every wellness visit when Maddie was younger. She told me labia fusion is very common and they just use the estrogen cream for treatment. I wouldn’t worry!

My niece had this. I remember my sister noticed it right around the time she was one-ish also and was so worried. She had to do the same thing with applying the estrogen cream. She’s 3 1/2 now and my sister has made no mention of it ever again so it seems like the cream worked just fine!

We have one! Diagnosed at her 6 month appointment. We just put the cream on it and it opened up no problem! I will be honest and say we forgot from time to time lol so it took about 4/5 months for it to open up completely.
