One day period + super irritated

So I was supposed to get my period this week and I got it for one day only? Usually I have it for 2-3 days so is this abnormal?

I am on birth control and I have not missed a single day. I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend but he always pulls out and has never been close to cumming inside me.

It’s also kind of red and irritated down there. Not sure if that’s from rough sex and no foreplay?

Anyone know what’s up? I am having every problem possible lol.

Disclaimer: we also just started dating but have not gotten tested yet. I have always used condoms in the past and he said he hasn’t once so we are planning on getting tested but the appointment is in three weeks.
