Your thoughts on baby ear piercings?

This is big thing for me. In the uk we have to wait two weeks after babies last 4 month injection. 
I would love to get hers done but I doubt I ever will as I’m way to scared for her I feel sooo cruel. (No judgement on others) I had mine pierced at 6 weeks old lol.
I’d love to know what other mums think about this!

I’m extremely against this I can’t stand seeing babies with their ear pierced, if they want it they can ask themselves when they are old enough to ask and to understand and clean it themselves

I’m waiting until she asks. I don’t feel like causing pain to, and permanently modifying my child’s body for my own aesthetic interests.

Come at me all you want (I’m sure someone will) but I think it’s disgusting and I 100% momshame people who pierce their babies ears.

I am pregnant with a baby girl right now.
I will wait until she asks to have her ears pierced.
I don’t necessarily find it cruel, but it’s so incredibly unnecessary.
I feel like so many people I know who had their daughters ears pierced was because they didn’t want people to think their baby was a boy. Which is such a terrible reason to have it done.

If I’d had a girl, I would wait until she’s like 10 and can decide for herself and learn to clean her ears herself and switch earrings herself. It’s just one more thing I’d have to keep a good eye on to make sure they don’t get infected! 
If people’s misgendering comments started to irritate me, I’d consider stick on earrings, though! Or bows, or just much more feminine clothes 🤷🏼‍♀️

My mother pierced my ears when I was 6months old and to this day I still have them! When babies are that little they don’t remember the pain of it so I’m glad I didn’t have to go through it when I was old enough to remember🙂((even though it doesn’t hurt that bad lol)) it’s your baby and if you want the ears pierced, you do it. Simple as that.

I don't agree with it. I think let your kid choose when they get old enough to know if they want it done and are old enough to take care of it.

i dont think piercing a babys ears are necessary. its cosmetic and basically for the parents and other people to look at. i think the child should be able to ask themselves if they want a piercing. my almost 5 year old just finally asked for her ears pierced.
