Labor rooms with tubs?

Question

So I recently took my hospital tour and found out the l&D rooms each have their own tubs you can use while laboring if you wish.

Did anyone else have this experience? Was getting in the tub helpful? Did you wear a bikini, just the top or Nada. I'm interested in being prepared to use it, but not sure what to take along for that?

I spent hours labouring in the tub.... I just left my tank top on because they're constantly checking you, even in there..so no bottoms were needed. The tub at the hospital I delivered had jets and was so deep and it just made my body relax more. I found laying on the bed, my contractions were so strong and some positions made it worse, but in the tub your body doesn't have full weight leaning on anything and it just made it easier. Not sure if that makes sense hah. I labourered at home until my water broke, and when I got to the hospital I was already 7cm. Prior to getting to the hospital I bathed through my labour at home too. It's more relaxing.

They can be super helpful. It depends on the labor and your body. Definitely be open to the option- why not? But you won't know what sounds good until you get there.
Also, it can slow labor down a bit, so be aware of that. Maybe research labor positions that speed labor up, so you can use the tub and not get slowed down.

I had a warm bath during contractions in my labour suite with my first baby and it did help relax me a little bit, it was unplanned though so I just kept my bra on as didn't have anything else with me. I'm hoping for a water birth this time round.

Yes the tubs are great!!! It helped me with labor so much. I didn't wear anything, but I'm not shy at all and doctors and nurses will see it all anyway.
