If you’re babysitting a 7 year old is it okay to let him watch YouTube / movies the whole time? That’s all he wants to do and his parents don’t seem to mind.

I feel like you should try to engage him in something else. ask him if he’d like to help you cook something, or bake something. Take him for a little walk. Find activities on pinterest.

I would try and do other things and if watching try making it educately. But I would take it away and have him do something eles. Personally but parents dont mind it's there child they will do what they want

The families I worked for expected me to engage with the kids, play outside, do stuff. They all got maybe 1/2 hour of screen time before bed. You should ask the parents directly what their expectations are.

Try encouraging him to do puzzles, drawing, or playing a card or boardgame with you.

I was a nanny for several years, I absolutely would not have allowed that. I did a set amount of tv time and a set amount for iPad time.
