My friend’s grandma has one night left

Just found out that my friend is at the hospital waiting to see her grandma for the last time.

I really feel sorry for her, I hope for a miracle to happen... I bursted into tears immediately after being informed about this unfortunate event.

I don’t know how to react to it. I feel like my friend needs support in such a changing moment in her life, but she also may need space and not want people around her in order to get over it. I’m not sure if it’s better to leave her alone in such a family moment or if I should stand by her side and cry it out with her. I’m really upset and I don’t know what to do in this case. I don’t want to make things worse, what would you do?
