Holding in Pee at Daycare

Cait

My 2.5 year old has been potty trained since late March/Early April. We were home on lockdown for a few months, but she went back to daycare in the middle of June. I was nervous about translating her potty training to daycare since she didn’t get the chance to practice out of the house much, but the first three weeks she was back at school it went seamlessly. No accidents and her teachers were very impressed.

The last couple weeks though she’ll hold her pee all day and then sometimes have an accident when she just can’t hold it any longer. I know they’re taking her regularly to the potty to try, but could it be too much pressure for her if they’re taking her when THEY think she should go? Should I recommend they wait until she asks to go? We went to the doctor already and have ruled out a UTI.

I’m sure other people have been through this. Should we send one of her potties from home with her? Get her a “potty watch”? I don’t want this to become a habit.
